How the work is agreed.

Plain terms for a custom trade. Nothing here overrides your written quote — where the two differ, the quote wins, because that is the document with your windows on it.

  1. 01

    Quotes

    A quote is itemized by window, product line and option, plus a flat install fee per unit and tax. It is valid for 30 days. Once you approve it, the price holds — if our supplier cost moves in the meantime, that is ours to absorb, not yours.

  2. 02

    Measuring

    We measure every window ourselves before an order is placed, and we take responsibility for those measurements. If a blind we measured does not fit, we remake it at our cost. If you supply your own measurements against our advice, that guarantee does not apply.

  3. 03

    Deposits and payment

    Custom blinds are made to your window and cannot be resold, so orders take a deposit at approval with the balance due on completion. The exact amounts are printed on your quote before you sign anything.

  4. 04

    Lead times

    Typically three to five weeks from the final measure, depending on the fabric and whether the shade is motorized. We give you a date range in writing with the quote. Where a supplier slips, we call you with the new date rather than waiting for you to ask.

  5. 05

    Installation

    Someone over 18 needs to be at the property to let the crew in and sign off at the end. We need reasonable access to each window; where furniture has to move, we will move it and put it back. A typical whole-home install is a single visit.

  6. 06

    Cancellation

    You can cancel a custom order at no cost until it goes to the manufacturer, which is usually two business days after approval. After that the goods are already being cut to your sizes and the deposit covers that work.

  7. 07

    Warranty

    Mechanisms and fabrics carry the manufacturer's warranty; our own installation workmanship is covered by us. Both are stated on your quote before you approve it. Damage from misuse, pets, or later alterations by someone else is not covered.

  8. 08

    Child safety

    Every product we sell is available cordless or motorized, and cordless is what we fit by default in any home with young children or pets. If you specifically request a corded system, we will explain the risk and record that you asked for it.

  9. 09

    This website

    Photographs on this site are of our own installations. Product descriptions and light-blocking figures are accurate to the fabrics we carry at the time of writing, but the number for your window is the one on your quote, not the one on a web page.
