The bracket does the work
Both shades share one headrail, so the window reads as a single treatment rather than a stack of hardware. Inside-mount needs about four inches of depth to take the pair; if your frame is shallower, we go outside the opening and the result looks intentional rather than compromised.
Where we put them
Nurseries and primary bedrooms first, media rooms second. Anywhere the same window has to be transparent at 10am and black at 8pm. It is the most expensive way to dress one window in this range and it is also the one customers write to us about afterwards.

What people ask about dual shades.
No. A zebra is one fabric with alternating bands. A dual is two separate shades, each of which you can raise and lower on its own. A zebra gives you a good middle; a dual gives you both extremes.
You can, and people do — motor on the blackout, cordless on the sheer, because the blackout is the one that moves every day. We will price both ways at the estimate.
Four inches for a clean inside mount. Between three and four we can sometimes make it work with a slim cassette; under three we mount outside. We measure the depth at every window, not just the width and height.
